The Sundargarh District Central Co-operative Bank plays a pivotal role in the main stream of the rural economy of the District particularly in the field of rural credit and Banking. Due to participatory character and concern for local community, this Bank is best suited to play an important role in balancing the negative impacts of commercial growth and maintaining the sustainable nature of the economic activities. The Bank with its huge network through 44 LAMPCS is playing an important role in poverty alleviation. The Self Help Groups based on the Co-operative principles& characters are providing good avenues of revenue generation for the rural poor.
